Implementation of the National Plan for Empowering Students and University Graduates with Skill-Based Training for Employment

Fouman Faculty of Engineering


With respect, it is to be informed that in line with the implementation of the national plan for empowering students and university graduates with skill-based training aimed at employment, and with the serious commitment of Fouman Faculty of Engineering of University of Tehran to move towards becoming an entrepreneurial university responsive to societal needs, a cooperation agreement has been concluded between the Fouman Faculty of Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Tehran, and the General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Training of Gilan Province. This plan, aimed at developing entrepreneurship and skill-based education, will be implemented from July 21, 2024, for a period of five years. Furthermore, in line with the execution of Clause 1, Article 3 of the cooperation agreement, the license to establish the Skill Training Management and Job Counseling Center (TMC) at the Fouman Faculty of Engineering has also been issued for the aforementioned duration of five years.

Joint Meeting Overview

In a joint meeting, following the presentation by Dr. Atefeh Hassanzadeh, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of Fouman Faculty of Engineering, regarding the history of the faculty's cooperation with the Provincial Technical and Vocational Training Organization focusing on skill courses and the faculty's summer school, Dr. Sedigh, Dean of Fouman Faculty of Engineering, elaborated on the importance of the cooperation and outlined the following objectives:

  1. Empowering students and graduates of the Fouman Faculty of Engineering and Gilan Province to meet the country's need for efficient human resources with technical, skill-based, and professional experiences.
  2. Providing a foundation for productive employment of graduates from various university disciplines.
  3. Utilizing the educational and research capacities of both parties to fulfill organizational missions and responsibilities.

Additionally, Dr. Sedigh emphasized that this agreement could significantly facilitate and accelerate the goals of an entrepreneurial faculty responsive to societal needs.


Areas of Cooperation

Dr. Kazem Pournasiri, Director General of the Gilan Provincial Technical and Vocational Training Organization, also enumerated the common grounds for cooperation and expressed the center's full readiness to expand collaboration with the Fouman Faculty of Engineering. This cooperation agreement enables the Fouman Faculty of Engineering to engage more extensively with the Provincial Technical and Vocational Training Organization in the following areas:

  • Holding joint conferences and training workshops
  • Publishing articles related to the agreement in international journals and magazines
  • Designing and conducting skill-based training courses both in-person and online
  • Producing films and other necessary educational and supplementary materials
  • Collaborating in the execution of internship, apprenticeship, laboratory, and workshop courses
